Twofer Tuesday, plus 3.

Does anyone else think Miss Mass looks like a starving refugee? Can someone please give her a cheese burger?!

Anyway..

1. What the hell is with snow days and delays and people in New England freaking out about the weather? The last snow storm I recall being so bad that you couldn’t drive in it was in the 1990’s and I am a pretty timid driver!

I get the safety thing, I really do. Busses have no seat belts; kids have to walk to the bus stop. But.. Didn’t we all do it as kids? I not only walked in the snow but I have to take a Public Bus when I was 9! Both ways. (I sound like my grandmother.) We are raising a generation of fearful people. While I do not want to put my kids in any danger.. I do not want them to be afraid of the world. If you live in the northeast then wet and cold and icy weather IS your world.

If the buses are delayed why must the kids who are driven and/or walk have to be delayed? Can’t the delay be optional? Like.. Ok all the buses will be two hours late but for those of you who have to work to feed your kids can still drop them off at the normal time so that you do not have to drive 40 minutes to go to work, bringing your children with you and then turn around an hour and half later and drive your kids 40 minutes back to school, then drive 40 minutes back to work effectively wasting your entire morning and having to cancel 2 meetings and leave a co worker in the lurch.

Yea, I did. Thanks.

And now you know tomorrow will be a snow day so my kids will be coming to work with me for the day AGAIN. I am so lucky I can do that, seriously, so very lucky. My kids will behave and all but you know.. That’s really the kind of thing that I do not want to abuse.

Side note: One of the traveling guys just walked in here and asked where I was yesterday. Apparently he stopped by to see me while I was making that trip back to the school. It just gets better and better.

If there is no school Wednesday there will be no Zumba!

2. Holyoke. I love you Holyoke. I found a new apartment in Holyoke that’s big and nice and in a good area and the landlord is already a friend of ours. There are kids there that go to school with my kids too. Those of you have I talked to the last few years know of the housing hell we have gone though, from living in downtown to living in a foreclosure. It’s been one big disappointment after another. Keep your fingers crossed for me! It is so hard to find a decent apartment in Holyoke. People either want absurd rents (1250 a month for a one bedroom in the highlands? Really?) or they are back downtown. I am so glad we don’t have to look outside Holyoke.

Bonus! It looks like our trip to Florida to see my grandparents is still on, yay!

p.s I am still putting off buying that phone, I want to see if I wait long enough I will get over my phone lust or it will get cheaper!

P.P.S. Why do I have to play a dollar to go to my kids CYO games? I already paid enough in freaking registration fees and I buy the cruddy food. What does my dollar go to? I had to pay it at all the schools.. I don’t mind so much at Guadalupe.. but Holy Name really doesn’t need my Holyoke bucks as much as say.. Holyoke does.

you should have told me, I have a 3 bedroom 1800 sf apt. opening up.

I just have to sand the wood floors and paint.

I love hard wood floors! How much is the rent?

The one we are probably taking is 3 bedrooms, washer dryer hook ups (I am not the landromat type, I am the throw it in the wash at night and in the dryer in the morning type) and a pool. Shes only asking 650. But that may be because we are friends.

I will really miss where we are now. If someone would buy the house and do the work it needs it woudl be incredible.

No cheeseburger for her. A nice big fat steak. She could use the protein.

I agree with the weather worries. People make a big deal about it. Here I am thinking, every year, the same bull. "Its going to be sooo bad out, Driving is going to be horrible" And when the snow comes, 3" and people panic. Drive like they have never driven in snow and hit the closest thing they can see through the barely cleaned off car. Thats another issue, cleaning cars off. Something people tend not to do after it snows. Ok, rant over.

Good luck with the new Apartment. I hope the cell phone waiting game works out to. Have you looked online for a cheaper price?

It's depressing that the little girls of the world will think this is beauty.

I want to throw things at cars who drive around with snow and ice on thier roof! Dont they know it flies off behind them and endangers cars behind them?

The online price is the same as in the in store price. I saw it on Amazon for 50 if I add a line and I should look more into that but I am trying to just not think about it.

Whats even more upsetting is seeing those little girls in those padgants and their crazy parents forcing them to be beautiful. They are children for crying out loud!

Im glad I am not the only one who is annoyed by cars covered with snow. My windshield was hit with a piece of ice from a car before. I thought I was going to die when I saw it fly up and come straight down on the window.

Oh I know. I don't have daughters but I would want them to think that whats in thier heads is more important then thier faces. I would want them to like chocolate and be able to laugh about 5 extra pounds. Weight should be equated with health, not beauty.

The work I do has to do with highways and traffic and trucks and people have really died from ice flying off cars and trucks and you can be ticketed for it. No one ever is until its too late. And if ice comes off your car and damages another you are legally responsible to pay for that. maybe if that was enforced people would get the hint.

As for SUVs and vans.. if you cant clear the roof, drive a smaller car.

Shes hot, but needs implants, preferably plastic ones that will never degrade, in her steel plated concrete encased coffin.

Turned it into the publisher/editor. Take that academia.

Alexander, for shame. I hope you meant implants in her twig like arms. And.. I just realized that was a dig at my anti plastic spiel, nicely done!

You must be so relived to have turned it in! When its published I want a signed copy. Just make sure the ink is biodegrable, k? Thx. :o)

Im asking $850, it has a washer hookup, no dryer hookup, but there are clotheslines on the back porch. I think I'd have to upgrade the electric service to put a dryer hookup.

It has the wood floors i'm refinishing, I replaced all the kitchen and bathroom fixtures.
Front Porch, Back porch, Pocket Doors between the living room and dining room, built-in hutch. natural woodwork. Fenced Yard, B-Ball hoop, BBQ Area. on and on

I was forced to watch Regis and Kelly at jury duty, and all I could think of in my groggy morning state of mind was that Kelly girl needs some food. Miss Mass looks no better.

Some people are naturally skinny, but Miss Mass isn't one of them.

Steven, that sounds like an incredible place! Good luck finding good tenets, going by all the neighboors I have ever had it's not easy. The one we are moving too is only 650.

Vandog, not only does Jury Duty bite but it should be illegal to be forced to watch Daytime TV as well! :o)
